The long awaited Gundam Seed Destiny has finally been confirmed by many popular anime magzines in Japan such as Newtype. With some of the same characters (Cagalli and Athrun will be in it), and a timeline which closely follows the first Gundam Seed, expect another great series with many twists and turns.The first episode will be in October 2004; airing at 6pm. This will replace Full Metal Alchmeist; as the 50 episode series somes to a conclusion. Many details are still unknown about the series; however, as time nears when the series will air, I'm sure that many new details will be known.Gundam Seed Destiny takes place in Cosmic Era 73.

By now, the war that had taken place in Gundam Seed has been long ended and new characters are appearing taking the role of the nemesis. Athrun has left ZAFT and a new counterpart appears. His name is Shin Asuka, and he is one of the leading characters in the series. Athrun is now a part of Orb along with Cagalli.Do the characters look slightly the same?

Well of course they do; not only to mention the reappearances of Cagalli and Athrun, the character desginer is Hisashi Hirai; who was also the same designed in the first seed. This is why we can see resemblances of many characters by just taking a look at some of the scans provided.

The Gundam SEED TV Special was quite a disappointment to many Gundam SEED fans everywhere. Some expected a whole new set of scenes with plot which would extend or add-on to the series which had already finished airing in October of 2003. Instead, we find that almost all of it is a recap of episodes in the early stages of the series. However, there are a few things that are new and welcome by many viewers. Things such as bonus scenes which never came in the original series. These bonus scenes gives the us, the viewer, a better sense of what actually happened and allows us to relate to the characters and events more than previously. For example: the very first 3 minutes of the TV special was of Athrun and the ZAFT soldiers preparing for launch in their mission to capture the Earth's new mobile suits. We also see Miguel Aiman (who later died at the hands of Kira Yamato) speak a little and his character has been reveiled a bit.Talking about new scenes, there are also small or short scenes which have characters taking showers... for the sake of fan-service.
